Can someone help me in Dragon Age: Origins?

i rented the game and i think it's great so far


i chose to be a mage and i think i am currently level 2 and so far my quest is to help jowan and lilly escape or something. But i just wanted to ask how to BUILD my mage.





as i said i think i am level two (pretty sure)


and i think my willpower is 18


and my magic is 19


should i just keep making magic 1 or 2 higher than willpower or should i focus on adding points to other things like constitution, dex, etcetc





and so far my powers are this weird blast called arcane bolt or something, lightning, a quick heal, this fire kind of one and something called shock (im really sorry for being nonsensical with my words).





but i just wanted to know if my stats are okay and what kind of powers i should use.


and i barely know anything about the game because i rarely play games since i have lots of other things to do :)





thank you for your help :D|||Dump everything in to magic and willpower. All other stats are pretty useless to you. You can put a few points in con and dex now and then if you really want to.





I like the fire and ice skills. Fireball is one of the most fun to use and cone of cold is almost essential. Then at the end you will get blizzard and inferno which are very helpful in the final battle of the game.





The other skills are up to you. You can choose a branch that adds penalties to your enemies, or one that buffs your allies. You can look up different builds online if you need more help. You should also think about what specializations you want to use.|||well if you want to be able to equip good armor and weapons you need strength for one, but magic mostly, when you look at the abilities you want make sure you see where it says how much skill or what category is required like 26 dexterity for example. i like using the summon skill that allows you to summon the skeletens of your recently killed enemies and you can have 7 people on your team instead of 4 since you have 3 mages that can have the same skills as you! with everybody else just build up their strength mostly so u wont have to dispose of really good items that are too much for you to equip at the moment. a couple of my guys are so strong they can weild 2 greatswords at once!
