Why is crysis so demanding on the pc?

Ok this is my setup

phenom x4 3.6Ghz

4870x2

4Gb ram

vista 64bit

now i can run games like Fear 2, far cry 2,dragon age origins, aion, etc on well over 100FPS at 1900x1200 res on max settings! (x4AA) ... but crysis it barely gets over 40fps with high settings let alone V high... ITS MAD! lol I know i dont have the PERFECT gaming pc but it can run 99% of games out now at full max with a good fps!...Its hardly that great when you compare the graphics to like far cry 2 etc. IS crysis just badly programmed or something? thanks :)|||There are several reasons why Crysis is so demanding. Many think it is because it has very good graphics. This is partly true, however, the main reason why Crysis is so demanding is because it is and 'open world game.' Basically what that means it it loads the whole island in one go, so your PC is handling tons of enemies, tons of props, tons of trees, loads of water ect. and it is doing it all at once. This is a lot of work for a PC to handle. Most games just need to load a part of a small level, so your PC can handle them easily, but on Crysis it has to handle a lot at once. This is why GTA IV is also quite demanding (although not as much as Crysis). So, that is why Crysis is so demanding. Hope this helped!
